About

amma tai, Psy.D.

Welcome to my practice! I am Dr. Tai, a licensed clinical psychologist providing consultation and group therapy in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. I specialize in anxiety disorders, stress and related conditions, and provide ADHD evaluation.

Change may cause stress, but dealing with a change successfully would leave us stronger, more confident, and better prepared for a new chapter in our life. Allow me to lend a helping hand. I have been trained at various mental health settings, including Kaiser Permanente, California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC), State of California, dual diagnosis residential facility, school and community settings. I have also worked in the human services field for 6 years.

My approach is practical, focusing on symptom relief as fast as possible. I practice from an integrative, evidence-based collaborative care approach and draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based and solution focused therapy approaches. I strive to create a safe, collaborative, non-judgmental environment that allows for values-based change. I have witnessed my clients’ capacity to reach their potential and to fulfill their needs with persistence to achieve awareness. Your active participation is essential to feeling better and promoting wellness.

I welcome the opportunity to consult with you to see how I can help you make the changes that will help you meet your goals and ultimately create space for personal growth and healing.
